Opening Lines: Starting (and Continuing) the Conversation with Students about AI

A syllabus AI policy is often where the conversation about AI stops. It's just as easily where it can start.

In this workshop, we'll consider why that ongoing conversation matters — for building trust with students, for helping them make good decisions about AI on their own, and for keeping pace with a fast-moving set of tools and norms. We'll think about what it takes to move beyond a policy students read once on day one, toward a conversation that continues across the semester.

Participants will leave with starting points for opening, and keeping open, that conversation with their own students.
