Community Engagement & Service Learning: UVA Assessed Undergraduate Civic Engagement

Join us for a session with UVA’s University Assessment team as they share results from the SCHEV‑mandated civic engagement assessment of undergraduate learning. They will walk attendees through the multi‑stage survey and artifact‑analysis process, highlighting key insights on students’ civic communication, knowledge analysis, and areas where applied civic action and structural understanding remain limited. This conversation will offer faculty and staff an inside look at what the data reveal and how intentional course and assignment design shape outcomes. Participants will also help us consider how UVA can refine future survey cycles and strengthen students’ civic learning across programs and schools.
