Community Engagement & Service Learning: Local History Video Resources with Beloved Community Charlottesville
Representatives from Beloved Community Charlottesville will present several of their local history videos. These short films were developed through an exhaustive community-engaged process—planning, creation, and ongoing evaluation with local partners—and model rigorous, participatory public history practice. Faculty and staff interested in community-engaged teaching, public scholarship, or curricular integration will find both the content and the production process valuable: learn how historical narrative, ethical partnership, and community feedback shaped the work, and discuss possibilities for using the videos in courses.
Lunch will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
